The DoubleCOOL team, once again expanded last month, as sales professional Matt Allen joined as Account Manager looking after business from the north of the Midlands, right up to the tip of Scotland!

He’s certainly very well-travelled, having spent the last 2 years backpacking in Australia and Vietnam. To fund his time backpacking, he worked  as a Tour Guide in SeaLife Sydney, and as a Traffic Controller in Western Australia, during the Women’s World Cup. There, he watched the Lionesses beat Columbia, in a campsite surrounded by dingoes! 

His love of animals doesn’t stop there. He has an 18-year-old cat named Phoebe Buffay (the famous American show “friends” is springing to mind here!), and his favourite animal at Sealife Sydney was a Smooth Ray called Big Mouth. 

This love of sea creatures is in common with Zoe, our Business Development Manager who has a pet lobster. Matt also enjoys scuba diving and recalls the time he swam with a turtle off Moreton Island, which featured as Spooky Island in the Scooby-Doo movie… Zoinks! 

Matt has enjoyed his time at the National Convenience Show, where he heard firsthand about the positive difference DoubleCOOL products have made to our customers. He’ll be hitting the road soon, with a trip to Scotland planned for early June.

We think Matt’s double cool, and he can’t wait to meet prospective customers and help them to increase profitability and improve sustainability of chilled produce, in their shops based in the North of England and Scotland.
