It was winning smiles all round this week, as Karsan Karavadra took delivery of 16 DoubleCOOL prize doors, at his Londis store in Borrowash, Derbyshire.

This special delivery came as a result of Karsan entering our competition earlier this year. Karsan, who also operates a further four convenience shops, told us, “I was absolutely delighted with the win, and very surprised as it’s the first time I’ve ever won anything! I’d heard about DoubleCOOL doors, and when a leaflet promoting the competition arrived, I submitted my entry and that’s the last I thought of it. Then in August, I heard from Zoe that we’d won. The team were quick to visit the store to offer congratulations and measure up for the installation. Just 7 weeks later, the installs team took a matter of hours to fit the doors and they look fantastic. I’m excited to see what customers think and what the energy savings will be”.

The 16 double-paned acrylic fridge doors were retrofitted by the installs team Dallas, Ben and Terry, to the open fridge cabinets, during open hours on a Friday. Now Londis Borrowash is all set to benefit from huge energy savings, lower electricity bills, fresher produce, extended chiller life, sleek new looks and lower CO2 emissions.

DoubleCOOL’s Managing Director Sharon Harrison told us, “We’re absolutely passionate about supporting retailers to save energy by putting doors on commercial fridges and have been responsible for the installation of thousands of doors across the UK over the past four years. We ran this competition to raise awareness that a simple acrylic fridge door solution is open and affordable to store operators, from the country’s top supermarkets to the local corner shop.”
