The Association of Convenience Stores ACS.org.uk represents 33,500 local shops in the UK, that’s 69% of all convenience stores in mainland UK. It is the voice of local shops and DoubleCOOL have become members, to listen to that voice and join in the energy-saving conversation.
The ACS advocates for the convenience sector offering comprehensive advice and networking opportunities to its members – from stand-alone family run independent stores, to symbol groups, to multiple convenience stores.
At DoubleCOOL, we are on a mission to put #DoorsOnFridges and became enthusiastic members of the ACS organisation. Being part of the organisation connects us with shop owners, franchisees and operators, in local neighbourhoods, villages, petrol forecourts and city centre locations.
The ACS’s latest Local Shop Report makes for interesting reading, it alludes to the £605m investment by local shops in 2022, the most predominant area of investment (43%) being refrigeration. It’s our aim to support local shops by retrofitting fridge doors to open cabinets, to reduce energy usage, lower carbon footprints, and result in immediate energy cost savings.
By sharing the innovative DoubleCOOL retail fridge door solution with the ACS network, we can help spread the word about our affordable retrofit fridge door service for local shops. Offering advice and real-life examples of how DoubleCOOL fridge door systems have helped the likes of Nisa Local and Morrisons Daily save £400 per meter of fridge, per year. Read more about these installs by reading our case studies here.
It’s great to be part of the ACS organisation and we look forward to connecting with their members. To find out more and read the ACS Local Shop Report summary, visit https://www.acs.org.uk/research/local-shop-report
